The Black Rig

I heard about it from my oldest son, Chris from Slip Angle fame. I found it on Ebay. Its now one of many bikes in my garage and its my new commuter beauty. Its a black gary fisher rig.

This weekend I took the rig to SUIE to ride the only nearby mountain bike trails. These trails are short but wind up and down, run through trees, over logs. For the experienced this sort of trail might be seen as quite easy. For me its always an adventure. I ought to purchase BMX safey gear.

Who would think that riding a bike with only a single speed would be so much fun? As usual I crashed once. Clipped the handlebars trying to avoid a log and thread through two trees.

When will I ever learn? I have broken a bone in my wrist, hit my head (thank God for helmets), and twisted my knee at least three times on earlier adventures.

I'm getting better however. This weekened, no emergency room. I just skinned up my right knee. These crashes are always sort of slow motion. When I am going down, I think about what might be broken. I wonder if I will be able to make my way out of the forest. I laid on the ground until I was sure I wasn't seriously injured and contined on. When I got back to the entry point on the trail, I was pleased. I'm learning to ride.
